An education capable of saving humanity is no small undertaking; it involves the spiritual development of man, the enhancement of his value as an individual, and the preparation of young people to understand the times in which they live in.
– Maria Montessori
At Montessori Children’s Elementary our program is for students from 5 to 12 years old (K-6) and is organized into two three learning groups within one schoolhouse. Pre-Elementary for 5 and 6 year olds; Lower Elementary for 7 and 8 year olds; and Upper Elementary for 9 to 12 year olds. In the Elementary environment students spend multiple years together building community with one another and deepening relationships with teachers. Elementary-aged children continue to learn through the use of concrete materials as they move gradually toward increasingly abstract thinking. The Elementary lessons and materials are multi-sensory, dramatic, and impressionistic, serving to ignite the imagination and curiosity of the students.
At Montessori Children’s Elementary we do things a little differently. Each student has their own unique learning experience. Receiving individual lessons allows the child to advance at their own pace and reach their full potential.
Our small class size allows us to develop a special rapport with our students and parents. In class the children have the opportunity to exercise self-discipline, decision making, and time management skills. These skills aid the child in becoming a responsible and caring human being.
We are truly a learning community. Call us and set up an observation.
